Dr. Hordge-Freeman provided a university lecture at The University of Missouri on “The Color of Love”
The Afro-Romance Institute presents lecture by Dr. Elizabeth Hordge-Freeman, “The Color of Love: Racial Features, Stigma, and Socialization in Black Brazilian Families” Dr. Elizabeth Hordge-Freeman will present her book, The Color Of Love, which reveals the power of racial hierarchies to infiltrate our most intimate relationships.
Dr. Hordge-Freeman presented on “affective capital” and love at Florida International University.
For a lot of people, love is a condition of survival. A way to resist oppression. A mode of empowerment. A radical politics. A kind of freedom. The speakers in “Love” will ask us to think about love in its many forms, but we’ll be especially leaning into the relationship between love and justice.
Dr. Hordge-Freeman launched a call for proposals for her new co-edited projected on “Surpassing Survival.”
